Committee Training & Handover

This section will give a brief overview on what to expect from your committee training sessions, as well as how the handover will work. As and when you find out dates, bang them straight in your calendar.

Training

As for when it is, I'm not 100% sure to be honest, but I will give the dates of when ours was to give you a general idea, just note that there's no guarantee it'll be the same again. You will get emails at some point telling you all the dates, so just keep your eyes peeled.

  • W/C 19th May
  • W/C 15th September

Like I say, most likely won't be exactly the same again, but better than having no idea at all. Anyway... what can you expect from the training?

Initially, it will be a lot of sitting down, listening, and note-taking. I would stress the note-taking part - it may feel like a waste of time when you're doing it, but I have actually referred back to my training notes a fair few times over the year. It's deffo worth it. Doesn't have to be pages and pages, but some is better than none.

There will be a couple of training sessions, especially for president, where they want you to be really interactive. It's all a bit of fun - don't stress any of it just go into it with a smile and a good attitude. I promise you'll come out the other side of most of them feeling like you have wasted your time. That's not a typo. Trust the process, you know how it is with these things.

Handover

With the handover, I will try my absolute best to help as much as I can. I want you to come to me with as many questions as you can hit me with. Even after the handover, I am more than happy for you to message me should you have any more questions/run into a situation you aren't sure how to deal with. I will still be in Pompey, so if needs be I can always pop and have a quick chat or meeting with you. At the end of the day, I still bleed purple. You can't change the colour of your blood... duh.

There will be an official handover conference/period, where we will sit down together and go through everything. I will show you all of this site and make sure you're happy with how it works. The actual confirmed dates for that are below:
